Day 1
Arrival in Cape Town
Arrive at Cape Town International Airport. Transfer to your hotel overlooking the Atlantic Seaboard. Welcome dinner with views of Table Mountain.
Day 2
Table Mountain & Cape Town City
Take the cable car to the top of Table Mountain for panoramic views. Explore the city: Company's Garden, Bo-Kaap neighborhood with its colorful houses, and the V&A Waterfront.
Day 3
Robben Island — Mandela's Prison
Ferry to Robben Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tour the maximum-security prison where Nelson Mandela spent 18 years, led by former political prisoners. Afternoon at the District Six Museum.
Day 4
Cape Peninsula — Cape of Good Hope
Drive along the spectacular Chapman's Peak. Visit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, the southwesternmost point of Africa. See African penguins at Boulders Beach.
Day 5
Cape Winelands — Stellenbosch
Travel to Stellenbosch, South Africa's wine capital. Visit two historic wine estates for tastings and cellar tours. Explore the charming town with its Cape Dutch architecture.
Day 6
Franschhoek & Paarl
Visit Franschhoek, the "French Corner" with its gourmet restaurants and wine tram. Then visit Paarl and the Afrikaans Language Monument. Return to Cape Town.
Day 7
Fly to Johannesburg
Morning flight to Johannesburg. Visit Constitution Hill, the site of South Africa's Constitutional Court and a former prison complex. Evening at leisure in Sandton.
Day 8
Soweto & Apartheid Museum
Tour Soweto — visit Vilakazi Street (the only street where two Nobel Prize winners lived), the Hector Pieterson Memorial, and a shebeen (township tavern). Afternoon at the Apartheid Museum.
Day 9
Pilanesberg Game Reserve — Big 5 Safari
Drive to Pilanesberg Game Reserve in an ancient volcanic crater. Afternoon game drive in search of the Big Five — lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo.
Day 10
Pilanesberg Safari & Return to Johannesburg
Sunrise and late-afternoon game drives. Between drives, relax at the lodge or take a bush walk. Farewell dinner back in Johannesburg.
Day 11
Departure
Final morning at leisure. Transfer to O.R. Tambo Airport for departure.
