Day 1
Arrival in Cairo
Arrive at Cairo International Airport. Transfer to your hotel with views of the Nile. Welcome dinner with Egyptian cuisine and a trip briefing.
Day 2
Pyramids of Giza & the Great Sphinx
Visit the Pyramids of Giza — the last surviving wonder of the ancient world. See the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure. Stand before the Great Sphinx. Optional camel ride in the desert.
Day 3
Egyptian Museum & Old Cairo
Visit the Egyptian Museum housing 120,000 artifacts including the treasures of Tutankhamun — the golden mask, royal jewelry, and mummies. Afternoon exploring Old Cairo: the Hanging Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue, and Khan el-Khalili bazaar.
Day 4
Fly to Luxor — Karnak & Luxor Temples
Morning flight to Luxor. Visit the colossal Karnak Temple complex — the largest religious site in the world. Evening visit to Luxor Temple, spectacularly illuminated at night. Board your Nile cruise ship.
Day 5
Valley of the Kings & Hatshepsut Temple
Cross to the West Bank. Descend into the Valley of the Kings where pharaohs were buried for 500 years. Visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, the Colossi of Memnon, and the Tombs of the Nobles.
Day 6
Nile Cruise — Edfu & Kom Ombo
Sail south on the Nile. Visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu — the best-preserved temple in Egypt. Continue to the unique double temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus.
Day 7
Aswan — Philae Temple & Felucca Sail
Arrive in Aswan. Visit the beautiful Philae Temple on its island, dedicated to Isis. Take a traditional felucca sailboat ride around Elephantine Island and the Botanical Gardens.
Day 8
Abu Simbel — Temples of Ramses II
Fly to Abu Simbel to see the magnificent temples of Ramses II and his queen Nefertari — carved into the mountainside and rescued from rising waters. Return to Aswan. Fly back to Cairo.
Day 9
Saqqara & Memphis — Origins of the Pyramids
Visit Saqqara, the vast necropolis with the Step Pyramid of Djoser — the oldest stone building in the world. Explore the ancient capital of Memphis. Farewell dinner in Cairo.
Day 10
Departure
Final morning at leisure. Transfer to the airport for departure.
